The sound of beans being ground to order fills the room, followed by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. In a residential part of Oshiage, Atelier’s signature Cc Set pairs flannel-drip coffee with homemade cake. The coffee is carefully brewed and pleasantly bittersweet, making it a thoughtful match for something sweet.

Choose from cakes such as a rich chocolate cake with the texture of fresh ganache, or cheesecake with a gentle tang that keeps each bite refreshing. There are other unfussy treats, too: a firm-set pudding that goes well with coffee, and warm waffles baked after you order.

The drinks menu also includes café favourites such as cream soda and homemade shiso juice, a refreshing choice on a hot day. Set inside a brick building, the café has a calm, antique-inspired interior. With music playing softly, it’s a pleasant place to turn a few pages or enjoy an unhurried conversation over the afternoon.
